  • 1866 Founded as a hardware dealer at our current location by Seibei IZAWA
  • Aug 1916 Incorporated as an unlimited partnership under the name Izawa Honten
  • July 1930 Reorganized as a limited partnership under the name Izawa Jikin Shoten
  • Apr 1937 Established as Izawa Jikin Shoten Co., Ltd.
  • Sep 1946 Set up the Nagoya branch
  • Mar 1947 Set up the Tokyo branch
  • Oct 1948 Set up the Hiroshima office
  • Apr 1961 Changed company name to Izawa Metal Co., Ltd.
  • Mar 1962 Increased capital to 100 million JPY through several capital increases
  • Dec 1962 Set up the Kobe office
  • Dec 1969 Introduced computers
  • Apr 1970 Increased capital to 250 million JPY through several capital increases
  • June 1972 Set up the Anjo office
  • Apr 1986 Renovated the main building of the head office and completely renewed the head office company building
  • Sep 1986 Completed an online system for the head and branch offices
  • Dec 1989 Became a special co-sponsor of the IZAWA Xmas Open Tennis Tournament
  • Sep 1999 Renewed the Tokyo branch office building
  • Oct 2001 Obtained ISO 14001 certification at the head office
  • Nov 2001 Obtained ISO 14001 certification at the Nagoya branch and other offices
  • Apri 2002 Relocated the Anjo office to a new building
  • Jan 2004 Increased capital 301 million JPY
  • Sep 2005 Renewed the Hiroshima office building
  • Apr 2006 Renewed the Nagoya branch office building
  • Mar 2007 Obtained ISO 9001 certification at the Nagoya branch and other offices
  • Apr 2008 Obtained ISO 14001 certification at the Tokyo branch and other offices
  • Dec 2011 Opened Izawa America, Inc.
  • Oct 2012 Opened Izawa Metal (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
  • June 2014 Opened Izawa Metal Shanghai Co., Ltd.
  • Nov 2014 Opened Izawa Mexico, S.A. de C.V.
  • Mar 2016 Relocated the Toyohashi sales to a new building
  • June 2016 Obtained JISQ 9100 certification at the Nagoya branch
